  16.     fMSX Amiga emulates an MSX computer on an Amiga. Features include:
  17.  
  18.     - Full emulation of the MSX1 and MSX2 systems.
  19.     - Also fully compatible with Colecovision cartridges!
  20.     - Support for reading/writing MSX disks and disk images.
  21.     - Can play all types of MSX ROMs, including ROMs bigger than 32KB.
  22.     - Support for the PSG, SCC, and FM-Pac sound chips (through AHI, native
  23.       or through the Concierto soundcard).
  24.     - Support for MSX memory sizes of up to 4Mb.
  25.     - Can be controlled through ARexx.
  26.  
  27.     'MSX' is an 8-bit computer system with surprisingly good graphics and
  28.     sound capabilities. How does graphic resolutions of up to 512 * 424, up
  29.     to 256 colors on screen, and up to 18 channel music sound?
  30.  
  31.     To demonstrate, several MSX pictures (taken from fMSX while running)
  32.     have been uploaded to aminet (pix/illu/msx_emu.lha).

  34.     MSX software is not included, but hundreds of games can be found
  35.     on the internet. A list of links is included in the documentation.
  36.     No self-respecting gamer should be without Space Manbow, S.D. Snatcher,
  37.     Firehawk, Eggerland Mystery, or the two original Metal Gear games!

  39.     Of course fMSX Amiga is fully multitasking, runs in an intuition
  40.     screen, and has a font-sensitive, resizable user interface.

  42. NEW FEATURES
  43.  
  44.     fMSX Amiga 2.3 is no longer just an MSX emulator. In this version fMSX
  45.     will also emulate the Colecovision system (and I know many Amigans
  46.     want a Colecovision emulator: my mailbox has been full of requests
  47.     over the last few years ;-) )
  48.  
  49.     Other new additions include some speed increases, some bug fixes,
  50.     and a lot of improvements to compatibility. Also, the second cartridge
  51.     slot has been reimplemented, meaning the GameMaster cartridge is once
  52.     again useable.

  54.     Games that didn't work, but do so now, include Breaker, Jet Set Willy,
  55.     Manic Miner, River Raid, BC's Quest, Dragon, Fantasm Soldier 2, Frogger,
  56.     Konami Tennis, Decathlon, Relics, and many others.

  58.     Games that already worked but now work better, include Feedback (intro
  59.     is no longer scrambled), Aleste 2 (screen doesn't break up anymore),
  60.     Dragon Slayer 6 (intro now runs at normal speed instead of warp 9),
  61.     and Avenger (now has sound).

  63.     The '060 version now supports digitized speech (fMSX always supported
  64.     this, but the quality was highly dependent on the speed of your Amiga.
  65.     Now it will run at exact MSX speed, thus sounding correct). Try it
  66.     with almost any Aackosoft game, such as Oh Shit!

  68. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  69.  
  70.     fMSX can run on '020, but you need a fast machine to appreciate it. Most
  71.     MSX1 games will run at a very nice speed on '040 machines; MSX2 games
  72.     tend to stress the video subsystem far more and many really need an
  73.     '060 to shine.
  74.  
  75.     fMSX can take full advantage of graphics boards, either through
  76.     CyberGfx or Picasso'96. AGA and OCS/ECS are also fully supported.

  78.     Many of fMSX' soundmodes require AHI.
  79.  
  80.     If a Concierto soundcard is present, it can be used to emulate the
  81.     MSX FM-Pac. FM-Pac emulation through the Concierto is vastly superior
  82.     to FM-Pac emulation through AHI, and adds a whole new dimension
  83.     to your MSX gaming experience!

  85.     At least AmigaOS 3.0 is required.
